Realization #1 - The 9-5 Lifestyle Isn’t For Me
In 2014, I started working for a massive labor hire company here in Melbourne, Australia. 

I knew from day one the ‘9-5 lifestyle’ just wasn’t for me.

(The dread I felt every time I walked out the door was a good sign something was wrong.) 

That's why I asked my Dad how to get rich so I could quit my job.

Unfortunately, he didn’t have the answers for me because he had lived paycheck to paycheck and worked in construction his entire life. 

So he asked his best-friend (who is a millionaire): 

“Matty wants to be rich and quit his job, what should he do?” 

His friend said if Matt's serious tell him to read Rich Dad, Poor Dad.
Realization #2 - There Are Secrets That Rich People Know That I Don’t  
Up until that point I had never read a book. 

(Because I hated reading.) 

But I wasn’t going to ignore the first real piece of life advice I got because 'I wasn't a reader.'

So I bought a copy of Rich Dad Poor Dad (that night) and read it cover to cover in one sitting.

This book really changed my life. 

Why? 

Because it showed me that there were secrets in this world that I didn’t know; It showed me that I wasn’t as smart as I thought I was and I had a lot to learn. 
Realization #3 - I Can Make A Full-Time Income Online Solving Other People’s Problems
After reading Rich Dad Poor Dad, I was still working in construction, but fundamentally I had changed as a person because I started reading 1-2 books every week (without fail) and I was on a desperate quest for knowledge.

Eventually I stumbled upon and reluctantly invested in a course called Consulting Accelerator.

(I was reluctant because the course cost about $3,500.00 AUD and that was a lot of money for me at the time.)

Consulting Accelerator showed me that there were millions of people making a full-time income online solving other people’s problems.

And I felt like I could do the same because I was in incredible shape, so I started an online personal training business.

My original goal was to make enough money to quit my construction job and live off the income my customers gave me. 

And to be honest, I really struggled in the beginning.
Realization #4 - Getting New Clients Is NOT As Easy As The ‘Guru’s’ Online Make It Out To Be
For years, I only made a couple hundred bucks a month, and many months I actually lost money. 

Which really frustrated me because I was completely burned out from my job. 

I was sick of the peak-hour traffic; I was sick of the unimportant tasks my boss would make me do every day; And I was sick of spending my entire life at a job I couldn’t care less about. 

All I wanted to do was work on my business and have plenty of free time to read books, go to the gym, travel and hang out with my girlfriend. 

But I couldn’t live this free life because I had to go to my job if I wanted his bills to be paid on time.
Realization #5 - I’m Not Smart Enough To Learn Marketing And Sales On My Own
I couldn’t understand why I struggled to grow my business so much. 

I had plenty of leads and I had a great service, but I just couldn’t get people to invest in my program - even though, working with me would literally change their life. 

(I knew their life would change because the handful of clients I had all got life-changing results!) 

I’d post content on social media and send cold messages to people who fit my ideal avatar every day.

But I still wasn't making enough money from my business to comfortably quit my job.

Eventually I came to the conclusion that I just wasn’t smart enough to figure out marketing and sales on my own.

That’s why I joined a $1,500 per month mastermind group that I couldn't really afford.
Realization #6 - The More I Learn, The More I Earn 
Overall the master mind was a very positive experience. 

Honestly, I wasn’t quite full-time online yet, but I was earning around 1-2k per month from my side-hustle coaching business. 

And even though I was barely breaking even from my business (because of the $1,500 per month I was investing into the mastermind) I was still happy because I knew I would eventually go full-time online. 

Why? 

Well, I noticed that the more I learned and the smarter I got, the more I started to earn from my business. 

So in my mind...

All I had to do was keep learning and eventually I'd go full-time online. 
Realization #7 - Emotional Investment Is The Secret Ingredient Missing From My Marketing
Around this time my girlfriend of five and a half years left me.

(Because I worked too much and barely spent any time with friends and family.)

Honestly, her leaving me left me completely heart-broken and distraught for months.

But eventually I knew I had to get over my shit and move on...

So I decided to hire a dating coach to keep myself accountable and learn some key lessons on attraction.

This dating coach completely changed my entire life.

Why?

Well he taught me a concept called Emotional Investment.

Basically the idea is...

The more someone emotionally invests in you, the more they want to be in your life. 

And the less they are emotionally invested in you, and you guessed it, the less they want to be in your life. 

Powerful right?

Discovering this concept changed everything for my business because I now knew why I was struggling to attract new clients.
Realization #8 - I Struggled To Attract New Clients Because I Added Value To My Prospects But I Wasn't Getting Them To Emotionally Invest In Me
I struggled to attract new clients because I was adding value to my prospects...

But I wasn't getting them to emotionally invest in me; So they didn't care about being in my life.

(They didn’t even know I existed.)

But that all changed when I learned how to post content that added value to my prospects while at the same time, built a strong emotional connection with them. 

(I'm doing it right now.)

In fact, my life changed so much...

That I was able to make enough money from my coaching business to quit my construction job and move into my dream ocean-view apartment.

Realization #9 - The Key To Attracting A Flood Of New Customers Every Week Is To Add Value To Prospects While Simultaneously Drip Feeding Important And Relevant Information About Yourself

“People can’t trust someone they don’t know.” 

This quote is why it took me over four years to go full-time online.
